“ Very much enjoyed our Sunday brunch for three here. The good-size crowd was a reflection of Mrs. O's reputation as one of the "go-to" places for Sunday brunch in Oxnard. Fortunately, in spite of the crowd, we did not have to wait long for a table on the outdoor patio, and we were happy to score a table on the rail overlooking the water with its view of the boats in the Channel Islands Harbor. Our server was Melissa and service was fast and friendly, without us being rushed at all. We each ordered a different omelet: Denver omelet - Ham, bell pepper, onions and cheddar cheese ($15), BYO omelet described on the menu as "Customizable American omelette with a choice of meats like turkey, sausage, chorizo, tri tip, ham, bacon, or beef. Veggie options include bell pepper, spinach, zucchini, and more. Cheese selections from jack to Swiss. Accompanied by sides such as black beans, hash browns, or fruit cup. Bread options range from rye to corn tortilla" ($17) SoCal Omelette with breakfast choices: beans, hash browns, tomatoes, fries, various potatoes, fruit, biscuit gravy; bread options include rye, sourdough, muffins, tortillas, wheat, biscuit, or none." ($15) Two of us had coffee ($3 each with free refills). Though my brunch companions had been there before, this was my first visit and Mrs. O's lived up to its reputation. Service was good, the food was very good, the portions were large, the prices were reasonable and the view was an added bonus. The cost for brunch for three before tax and tip was a very reasonable $53. Sales tax was 9.25% for $6.76 and there was something called a "Harbor Tax" for an additional 3.5% added on. I can wholeheartedly recommend Mrs. Olson's Coffee hut for breakfast or brunch in Oxnard and look forward to returning on my next visit to the area. ”
